3 Players of note:
1) Mark Scheifele C Team OHL - Big bodied centered that has a pretty versatile game be it going in on the rush or causing havoc on the crease. Was very effective once inside the blueline. Winnipeg Jets has themselves a very nice player here. All that being said, the defense and goaltending on both sides was pretty undesirable.
2) Tanner Pearson LW Team OHL - Rode shotgun with Scheifele and Toffoli tonight. Judging by his stats he has realized his potential this year. Liked his game in that he really battled hard around the net and battled for his ice. This line cycled well and had the puck a lot when they were on the ice. Pearson has a little bit of a Jamie Benn type style to him.
3) Ivan Telegin LW Team Russia - This was a game of net presence and both teams had it in droves. The key presence for Team Russia was Telegin. Really stuck his nose in the crease and rarely was turned away. Good at getting position in front of the net and daft at tips and deflections. It was a game where bigger bodies had the upper hand tonight.
